Excused Absence – A student returns to class with a note from a guardian explaining that they know the student was absent. The letter must have a contact phone number/email for the guardian. A doctor’s note is valid as well. Parents can call the main office to notify their student is absent.

Unexcused Absence – A student’s absence is unexcused when they return to class without a note from a guardian with a phone number or another legitimate source.

When a student returns from an excused absence:

  1. They bring a copy of an absence note to place in Ms. Paredes’ mailbox.
  2. They discuss with their teacher how and when to make up tests, quizzes, homework, and classwork they missed while out.
