Excused Absence – A student returns to class with a note from a guardian explaining that they know the student was absent. The letter must have a contact phone number/email for the guardian. A doctor’s note is valid as well. Parents can call the main office to notify their student is absent.
Unexcused Absence – A student’s absence is unexcused when they return to class without a note from a guardian with a phone number or another legitimate source.
When a student returns from an excused absence:
- They bring a copy of an absence note to place in Ms. Paredes’ mailbox.
- They discuss with their teacher how and when to make up tests, quizzes, homework, and classwork they missed while out.
